TRADE BLANKET CAPOTE - PLATEAU STYLE!
This Capote (Or Great Coat) I made using a four point Hudsons Bay trade blanket. The beadwork style is what I would consider Plateau (Nez Perce, Cayuse) but some also would call this Crow style. These types of coats were made among many of the tribes of Northern areas, from the Great Lakes all the way out here to the west, and across Canada. Usually though they are not quite as fancy as this one. But a smart adaptation to wearing a blanket that needs constant adjusting.
