Well I just couldn't leave well enough alone. I made this bonnet last summer, but was never quite satisfied with it. Something bothered me. So I have made a whole new set of horns for it, as well as taken off the whole ermine on the sides and replaced them with ermine "tubes" instead. I am now happier with the look of it.
In case anyone has interest in this bonnet, it will be for sale at Astoria Fine Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. http://www.astoriafineart.com/index.html

Angela, it looks so much more alive with the tubes. Amazing work as always!
Thank you for that. Sometimes the small changes or details make all the difference, and I was not satisfied with it initially. Sometimes its better to revisit your work than let out there something you are just not quite pleased with.
Salve,
Another beauty :)
Question - have you seen the article on the beads in the multi-author 2-volume publication titled 'People of the Buffalo' - editors Colin F. Taylor and Hugh A. Dempsey? Interesting stuff on early trade beads etc
cheers
Thank You Dario. I have seen that article. But I will pull it and read it again as it has been some time. I met Colin Taylor several years ago at a conference in Montana. He was a very learned scholar on Plains Indian art.
But interesting the world trade that come to the Americas which made the art all the more dimensional and rich.
And your Blog is fabulous as always. Keep up the excellent work.
